It’s the CAP!

Few days back, after watching the Bananas in Pyjamas, Ashton went to his wardrobe and took out his cap, shoving it to me, so that I can put it on him. Why? I guess it must have been the show. In that particular episode, all the characters – the bananas (B1 and B2), the mischievous Rat-in-the-Hat, and the three teddies (Amy, Lulu and Morgan), are wearing their caps/hats.

No wonder my boy got that idea. Every now and then, he will ask me to put on his cap for him, even at home. Copy-cat-Ashton???

Mr Bean??? I thought Mr Bean is so funny??? Well, I guess Ashton has his own perception on Mr Bean. Whenever I switched the channel and Mr Bean’s cartoon appeared, Ashton will quickly get away from the television, and will make some noise telling me that he’s afraid of it. If I just ignored him, he will go behind me and hide behind my back. Sorry Mr Bean… I guess you’re out!

Here’s the gifts that Ashton received for his 2nd birthday. Indeed he is a lucky child to have such a luxurious range of toys and outfits.

Thank you so much Mummy Caroline for the wonderful gifts. Ashton loves them all, especially the Anpaman T-shirt & Pants. He kept pointing to the Anpaman.

Ashton loves playing with his new toy, Thomas & Friends’ Talking Knapford Station, James and Gordon, and not forgetting, his good-old Ferrari cars??? Where did that come from? Haha… There’s one afternoon after coming out from the kitchen, I realised that Ashton has turned the train station into a 2-in-1 multi-purpose parking lot for his Ferrari cars as well! 2-in-1 station??? Great innovation my boy!

We celebrated Ashton’s second birthday on the 23rd of May since his actual birthday falls on a week day. Not a big celebration, just had dinner with his grandparents (from both sides), his uncle (my brother) and my sister-in-laws’ family. We had Chinese food at one of the restaurants here.

I ordered a 2 kg yam cake (minimum weight to draw ELMO according to the bakery assistant ) from a bakery here instead of S*cr*t Rec*pe as I’m not quite happy with the previous drawings on Ashton’s cake (for his 1st birthday). They used computer image printing as the image instead of manually drawing them, which when we took it off to cut the cake, the cake is literally ‘un-presentable'. Well, no complains on the image drawing this time round, but the cake does not taste as nice as I’ve expected. What to do? We can’t have the best of both worlds can we?

And guess how long does ELMO lasted once it was taken out of the box? Less than a minute!!! Ashton was so excited with the cake and can’t get his hands off it once he saw it, till he managed to put his whole right palm on top of the cake, thus disfiguring the image a little. He is too fast for us! You can see the effect on the cake, on the top right image above. Too bad this time he still doesn’t know how to blow the candles off, so we have to help him instead.

Overall, Ashton did have a great time that night. Happy Birthday my boy!

I’m so sorry for not updating my blog for quite some time now as I’ve been very busy lately. I do hope that I’ll be able to make some posts soon which have been out-standing for quite some time now. In the meantime, do bear with me, and I’ll be blogging soon once I’m free.

Ashton would like to say a very big “thank you” for all the birthday wishes and birthday gifts from all blogger mummies. Indeed you’ve all been very kind to him, and he is definitely a very lucky boy!

We really appreciate them so much. Will definitely do a post on his birthday and his birthday gifts when I have the time. Thank you all once again.

Exactly in a week’s time, 25th May, Ashton will be turning 2! How time flies! It’s as if he was born yesterday, and next week, he will be turning 2!

I remembered how serene he looked when he slept in his cot on the day he was delivered, cocooned in his own ways, sleeping and at the same time, trying to get used to the ‘new’ environment out here. Definitely is a new experience for him.

Looking back at his pictures now, I really thank God for blessing us with this bundle of joy, who has been keeping us occupied and entertaining us with his never-ending stunts, tactics, and of course, his tantrums too… There’s never a day without us laughing away with our hands on our stomachs, trying to contain our laughter to his acts! . Children is a blessing from God, for us to love, and for them to love us back!

Whew… It’s been a while since I last posted an entry in this blog, and posting the ‘first’ one after so long took so much effort.

So, back to the title of this post. Lately Ashton loves to take our house or car keys and slot it in his “car” so as to start its engine! Every time after returning home, he is sure to get the keys from us and slot it into his “car” and ride it around the house. Maybe he has seen us doing that all the time when we start our cars. Cheeky boy!
